The Hennessey VelociRaptor is a bigger, bolder iteration of the Ford Raptor with higher performance, six-wheel-drive, and unique Hennessey badging.

Why settle for four-wheel drive when you can upgrade to six-wheel drive? Hennessey’s performance package upgrade to the Ford Raptor gives drivers that and more. With upgrades galore and a ton of style, the VelociRaptor is an extreme iteration with capability in mind.

The company claims they have tested the truck on the “toughest terrains” and that their modifications will “surpass your expectations.” A peek under the hood and through the suspension will reveal a ton of upgrades over the original Raptor and a glance around the exterior shows some unique badging and other aesthetic changes.

The interior of the VelociRaptor remains largely the same as the stock Raptor, but it is still nothing to scoff at. While much of the money from upgrading went into adding a couple of extra tires and a ton of other heavy-duty improvements, there are a few interior design changes as well.

The interior of the Hennessey VelociRaptor offers much of the same feel and technology as the stock Raptor, including a huge 12-inch infotainment screen that comes equipped with Ford’s Sync system and software. The truck comes with several drive modes, including grass/gravel/snow, mud/sand, Baja, Rock, and normal modes. As the truck cycles through these modes, a digital dash in front of the driver mirrors the terrain with a virtual truck.

The driver dash also features a 12-inch digital gauge cluster. The graphics on all digital assets are unique to the Raptor and over-the-air updates ensure that all technology stays up to date. The updated navigation system displays real-time traffic patterns and flow and can also help the driver on trails that are more off the beaten path, as can the surround-view cameras.

While the seats in the cabin are also stock from the original Raptor, they are fairly luxurious and have heated and cooled options. Upgraded in the 2021 model year, they are now available in leather with supportive foam bolsters (with the option to upgrade to soft suede). The Recaro bucket seats can be had in a variety of color combinations with accent stitching as well. The interior also features accent stitching in either gray or bronze and can include coined aluminum or carbon fiber accenting as an upgrade over the original brushed metal ones.

Unique to the VelociRaptor is a Hennessey Performance Logo plaque located on the headliner toting the truck as a Hennessey upgrade just in case your passengers did not notice the extras on the exterior. The cabin is surprisingly quiet for a truck with six tires.

Overall, the interior is welcoming and familiar with just enough luxury to make the rugged truck feel a little more classy. Considering the places that the VelociRaptor is capable of going and the harshness of the terrain it is capable of transferring, it makes sense that the interior would provide a comfortable reprieve from the potential harshness of the environment outside.

The VelociRaptor 600 Raptor performance package offered by Hennessey adds a lot to the truck. With 558 horsepower and 672 lb.-ft of torque, the twin-turbocharged 3.5-liter V6 engine comes equipped with performance parts including a high-capacity intercooler with a blow off valve, an upgraded engine-management system, and an enhanced air induction.

Hennessey boasts that they have the truck upgraded in the “most American way possible.” This includes lengthening the Raptor original platform to add a third axle and an eight-foot flatbed (the original Raptor came with a five-and-a-half-foot bed). The rear axles are locking, and the truck comes equipped with more than capable off-road tires that can be up to 37-inches.

The off-road upgrades to the VelociRaptor include bumpers that feature integrated LED lights, a suspension leveling kit, and the option to add six-piston Brembo front brakes to maximize stopping power on the behemoth. The company went with Fox suspension Racing Shox for a luxurious ride and have also included a stainless-steel exhaust system (catback).

The stronger bumpers, bed-mounted roll bar, seven-inch lift, and six wheels make the truck more imposing than its stock counterpart. The sides and rear of the truck boast “VelociRaptor” badging and located in the engine bay is a serial numbered plaque. Additionally, the front bumper features the “VelociRaptor” branding prominently displayed just beneath the word “Ford” and “Hennessey” on the side of the truck bed.

The VelociRaptor is extremely limited, with just 50 6x6s built in 2019 and no word yet on the updated limits for current model years. You can inquire through the Hennessey website on purchasing the third generation model, but the truck came with a $375,000 price tag back in 2019 and is currently priced starting at $399,950 and is already in production for those who deem the beautiful example of modified power to be worth the price tag.
