The flagship of Bystronic’s laser cutting systems is now available with 20kW of laser power and an optimised cutting process.

The new 20kW ByStar Fiber’s latest-generation cutting head was developed to achieve consistently high quality with the highest laser outputs and for demanding cutting applications. This enables sheetmetal processing companies to further optimise their production.

The machine features enhanced cutting quality and productivity thanks to the new, even higher laser power. In order to offer sheetmetal processing companies even more effective and flexible cutting capability in an increasingly competitive environment.

This high-end fibre laser represents high-precision Bystronic technology – a reliable cutting process even with the highest laser outputs – for a wide range of applications. The technological leap from the previously available 3 to 15kW laser output levels to the latest 20kW level is considerable and opens up new possibilities for Bystronic’s customers to optimise production.

Compared to 15kW, the productivity of the 20kW kilowatt ByStar Fiber, according to the manufacturer, is on average 40% higher in mild steel and stainless steel at 4mm to 20mm thicknesses. This means that sheetmetal processing companies can benefit from higher productivity at low unit costs across a wide span of materials.

The new level of laser power thus enables maximum flexibility for both large batches and urgent customer orders. Regardless of whether cutting aluminium, non-ferrous metals, or steel, the high-performance Bystronic cutting head excels with maximum precision in both thin and thick sheets and profiles. Furthermore, the 20kW laser opens up extended applications in steel and aluminium up to 50mm.

The new optional Parameter Wizard feature ensures that the correct quality of the cut parts is always selected – by obtaining the ideal parameter within minutes.

The new power level laser is available for the ByStar 3015, 4020, 6225 and 8025 flatbed machines and is controlled via ByVision cutting software and 21.5-inch touchscreen. Operating the machine is said to be as simple as using a smartphone.

Additionally, a wide range of automation solutions ensure optimum machine utilisation and process reliability even during unmanned operation. These include loading and unloading systems, sorting solutions and individually customisable storage systems – making it possible to create an automated laser cutting process that is seamlessly integrated and adapted to the existing production environment and the available space.
