No less than 15 brand new tube-rail trolleys are ready and waiting at PDI. Joris Bogaerts of Bogaerts Greenhouse Logistics, a cart manufacturer, explains that this is an important innovation: “It is very important that all equipment can be 100% sterilized.”
Repair the elevator, wait a minute, PDI's pipeline rail car? From now on, will the installer of the screen device grow his own tomatoes? But in fact, it's not. It involves the Qii-Lift H652 scissor lift, a well-known model of Bogaerts. PDI will be used as a maintenance lift with a platform height of 6.5 meters.
"The greenhouse is getting higher and higher, and safety is of the utmost importance to us," said Jeroen de Jonge from PDI. "We are currently installing a second system in various greenhouses, or refurbishing existing roof and screen systems. The height of the columns of these greenhouses is usually 6 meters. In order to be able to work normally and safely at this height, a suitable tube rail trolley is required. "This is why the company ordered 15 units.
The most special thing about these trolleys is that they are made entirely of stainless steel. This is because carts always go to different items.
“Given the increasing disease pressure in the professional gardening sector, it is extremely important that all equipment be 100% disinfected before it is used in the next job,” said CEO Joris Bogaerts. "More and more disinfectants with high acidity (pH 2-4) are used. The standard double powder coating has provided a good chemical corrosion barrier for the steel structure, stainless steel chassis, scissors and working parts of the scissor lift. The platform provides better protection against possible corrosion."
Jeroen confirmed that they had noticed that due to continuous thorough cleaning, the old cart was beginning to be damaged. "We have ordered 15 stainless steel carts. This is a huge investment, but it is the only correct way to continue working between crops."
Additional innovations under the chassis Under the chassis, there is also a Bogaerts innovation. The quick release device allows quick and easy adjustment of the center-to-center distance of the flange wheel. “This makes it possible to use scissor lifts in greenhouses, with tube rails ranging in length from 425 to 650 millimeters,” explains Joris. "Especially for contractors like Peter Dekker Installations, it is very important to be able to use these equipment for different customers."
Cooperation The cooperation between Bogaerts Greenhouse Logistics and Peter Dekker Installations dates back more than 10 years. The two parties concluded: "Another good example of how close cooperation can lead to continuous product improvement."
